Life-size puppet herds march across continents for climate action

Towering puppets of elephants, lions and gorillas are making their measurement done cities crossed Africa and Europe successful 'The Herds' – a nationalist creation capacity confronting nan ambiance crisis.

The travelling project, previewing Biennale Danza 2025, combines dance, theatre and large-scale puppetry, tracing a symbolic migration of animals displaced by ambiance change.

Crafted from recycled cardboard and wood by a 35-person team, including South Africa’s Ukwanda Puppetry Collective, nan puppet herds will screen 20,000 kilometres from Kinshasa to Norway.

In Venice this July, they will meet sixteen dancers from Biennale College Danza for a capacity led by choreographer Anthony Matsena, who describes nan activity arsenic “a outcry for help, and a ceremony of nature’s rhythm.”
