Thermomix pays $80,000 fine for 'misleading consumers' over NDIS claims

A room appliance institution paid $79,200 in fines complete allegations 2 of its products were falsely labelled arsenic NDIS-approved.

Vorwerk Australia, trading arsenic Thermomix, was deed pinch 4 infringement notices by nan Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) for allegedly making mendacious of misleading representations to customers online.

The title watchdog has alleged Thermomix falsely promoted nan Thermomix TM6 cooking merchandise and Kobold cordless vacuum and mop arsenic being endorsed done nan NDIS aliases registered by an entity administering nan NDIS.

A spokesperson for genitor institution Vorwerk Australia said nan organisation "would ne'er intentionally aliases knowingly mislead immoderate consumers".

The watchdog claims this allegedly describing nan products arsenic NDIS approved, NDIS-registered product, NDIS-consumables, NDIS assistive exertion and NDIS equipment.

ACCC Chair Gina Cass-Gottlieb said misleading consumers experiencing vulnerability aliases disadvantage was concerning.

"We will not hesitate to return due action," Cass-Gottlieb said.

"The NDIS does not supply circumstantial support for immoderate peculiar equipment aliases services."
